Well, can I just say that yesterday was awesome? Besides the whole "it's friday!" thing. Kanye West had a show here on campus last night along with Fantasia (from AI) and Keyshia Cole for UB's Fallfest. Now, I expected a good show...but it definitely went beyond what I thought it was gonna be like. I went with Lindsey, who lives near me and one of her friends (I'm so bad with names...). Got there around 5, and the line was long, but nothing as bad as Springfest last year, so I was pretty excited. By the time the line started moving in, the line pretty much made it to the football stadium. It was crazy. So I just passed the time in 50 degree weather just waiting and listening to Lindsey's Ipod. Stood in the pit for the entire concert. Not too bad...although I wish I were like 5 inches taller so I could have seen more of the show, but I can't complain too much. I saw enough to enjoy it. Keyshia Cole was first, and although I had never really heard anything about her, she definitely impressed me with her voice. She was on for like 45 minutes and I felt that she was amazing, but she didn't connect too much with the crowd. I personally think that her set could have gone on for a little longer, but it was good. Then Fantasia came out and definitely got the crowd going. She has soo much energy, and that definitely got the crowd going. She was practically running up and down the stage, towel in hand. My, she's a sweaty girl. But she definitely did an awesome job. Then Kanye...man, does he know how to put on a show. His setup was amazing, the colors and the lights, and the little orchestra section he had up on stage was amazing. I didn't see this, but apparently at one point he was wearing a UB shirt...I think that was amazing. Definitely came home after the show and downloaded his entire albums. Sang along to the songs I knew, danced to most of them that I didn't know, and overall it was an amazing time. He definitely looks good in that white suit. I think my favorite performance of his is when he was singing a song and they were scrolling text near the top of the stage, quotes from different people talking about how he has no talent or that he's nothing special (probably due to that little "George Bush doesn't care about black people" line he pulled a while back...) and at the end he just had his back to the audience and his hands up in the air...wow. That was cool. My feet hurt, my legs hurt, my back hurt,I was practically deaf, my voice was hoarse, I was a little weird because of the pot, and I reeked of it...but damn, that concert was worth it...
so, just spent today recovering pretty much...nothing of real substance, although I think I'm gonna read up on Macro because I have a test this Thursday. And I'm gonna take a shower in a few...
I had a pretty good week
But...I dunno...I feel like everyone's avoiding me for some reason. Haven't seen anyone really for more than a little while. Oh well, their loss...
